Hi Friends,
I would love to
share this blog with all the food lovers - those who believe the FOOD is
definitely LIFE!
This blog is not
just about food, but it is about life, its experiences, that we share, and
which many a times, culminates into a food item, which is then associated with
the particular memory or experience.
If we look at it plainly, cooking is that
activity, which goes on constantly, many times very mechanically, some times,
with a little thought and care. But if look at life and cooking as its integral
part, then we will know that food is one of the major criteria for deciding the
quality of life that we live.
Life style changes
happen over 20 to 25 yrs roughly. And if we were to look at the past century or
so, then we will find that food has constantly evolved. New techniques, new
ideas, raw materials, new food items,
keep coming from time to time.
So, if we stick to
the same old routine through the years, without incorporating any changes in
our food, then we tend to become rigid in our thoughts in life, and more rigid
towards towards life also.
There is so much
fun, so much happiness in cooking! Even everyday cooking could be made special
with some special touch!
Cooking is a
challenge as well! Sometimes, you have to accept challenges from Time, from
occasions, and from people. As you are confronted with a challenge, your senses
become sharper, respond to the given situation, fast, and to the mark, thus
fulfilling your challenge and giving a sense of achievement to yourself!
Cooking is an
ongoing process, which for any homemaker, is as good as any other corporate
job, albeit without the fat pay packet! But the joy on the faces of your folks,
a word of appreciation from your friend, from your boss, a pat of those
wrinkled hands from your elders is more than a fat paypacket could offer in
terms of happiness!
So friends, as a
foodie blogger, I start off with a sweet dish, to instantly connect with all my
friends. This receipe is worth trying and since it has chocolate in it, rest assured,
it will be an uplifting experience!
CHOCO CUTIES:
Take 100 gms of crumbled Christmas cake, or Christmas pudding, or Plum
cake, or chocolate cake, whatever is easily available. Add 2 to 3 tsps of rum
or red wine, as per your taste and preference, And now add 50 ml of golden
syrup which is easily available in supermarkets, or regular sugar syrup made at
home. Now, mix 75 to 100 gms of melted
dark chocolate, or cooking chocolate. Mix together, and roll into small walnut
sized balls, and keep in paper cups in the fridge for an hour. Remove the cups
onto a tray, and pour a big drop of melted white chocolate over it. Now stick
some red and green tutti frutti, or coloured cherries pieces on the white
chocolate. Serve these choco cuties as After dinner cups or for birthday
parties, or just any time! Literally any time! They will vanish before your
very eyes in no time.
